The scientific seminar was held in the Chemistry Department at the College of Science. It was presented by Professor Dr. Nabil Abdul Abdul-Ridha and Assistant Professor Dr. Tayba Ibrahim Mohammed.

The seminar covered a number of topics, the most important of which was the concept of organic synthesis. Organic chemical synthesis involves the design and formation of complex organic compounds through a series of precisely defined reactions.  Organic synthesis is also used in the pharmaceutical industry, and organic chemical synthesis plays a pivotal role in the development of new drugs.
