As part of the global “Erasmus Days 2026” events, the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University of Al-Qadisiyah took part in a scientific seminar hosted by the Middle Technical University. The seminar, held under the patronage of the President of the Middle Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, aimed to introduce the Erasmus+ program and explore opportunities for international academic cooperation and mobility.
The University of Al-Qadisiyah was represented by the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Asmaa Abdul-Amir Obeis, accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Rishan, the head of the Erasmus unit. The seminar was held in conjunction with the global “Erasmus Days 2026” initiative.
The seminar sought to provide an overview of the Erasmus+ program and the opportunities it offers in areas such as international academic cooperation, mobility, scientific exchange, and training. Furthermore, it aimed to raise awareness regarding how to leverage European programs and initiatives that support higher education, while expanding the horizons for collaboration between universities and academic institutions. Dr. Asmaa delivered a scientific lecture addressing opportunities for international academic collaboration. The session also featured online contributions from Dr. Muwaffaq Sajit, Director of the Department of Arab and International Organizations at the Ministry; Ms. Asmaa Al-Samadi, an EU-certified trainer from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and Iraqi student Mohammed Abdul-Zahra, who shared his personal experience as an example of how to leverage academic exchange and participation opportunities. Other discussions highlighted the importance of academic mobility programs, international partnerships, joint research projects, and collaborative training—all of which play a vital role in developing the scientific and academic skills of students and faculty, while strengthening the presence of universities within international cooperation initiatives.
