The political role of the Republican Party in the United States; A doctoral dissertation.


The doctoral dissertation, titled “The Republican Party and its Political Role in the United States (1980-1993),” was submitted to the History Department at the College of Education, Al-Qadisiyah University, by researcher Yaqoub Habib Ibrahim and supervised by Professor Dr. Ammar Muhammad Ali Al-Tai.

The dissertation aimed to highlight the most important developments within the Republican Party during the study period and to reveal its leading and active role in US domestic and foreign policy. It also explored how the Republican Party succeeded in ending the Cold War and establishing the United States as the sole superpower in international politics.

The most important conclusion was the Republican Party’s success in ending the Cold War through a series of economic and political measures that weakened the Soviet Union, ultimately leading to America’s emergence as the sole superpower in international politics.
