The Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Aqeel Rahim Al-Barqawi, received a delegation from the Arab Board of Ophthalmology. The delegation included Mr. Muhannad Aneim Al-Mayali, Director General of the Diwaniyah Health Department, Dr. Yassin Abu Shahma from Libya, and Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Othman from Egypt. The delegation was supervised by Dr. Furqan Majeed Hameed, Head of the Board Center for Ophthalmology, Dr. Zainab Adel Hashem, and Dr. Alia Aboud Karim. Also present were Dr. Diaa Nema Al-Husseini, Director of the Specialized Center for Ophthalmology in Diwaniyah, along with a number of specialists, consultants, and residents.

The delegation’s visit aimed to accredit the Specialized Center for Ophthalmology at the College of Medicine, which is affiliated with the Diwaniyah Health Department, as a training center for Arab Board students. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the center’s infrastructure, educational halls, examination and operating units, and all aspects of the work at the Eye Center, where the delegation expressed its great admiration for the level of organization and the extent of the efforts made.
