Intellectual extremism and the repercussions of illegal immigration; A scientific workshop.


The Continuing Education Center at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific workshop on intellectual extremism and the repercussions of illegal immigration, in cooperation with the Center for Psychological and Social Services and the Center for Psychological Research at the Ministry of Higher Education.

The Continuing Education Center, in cooperation with the Center for Counseling and Psychological and Social Services at Al-Qadisiyah University, in coordination with the Center for Psychological Research at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, held a scientific workshop entitled:

((Intellectual Extremism and the Repercussions of Illegal Immigration and Promoting the Spirit of Citizenship among Youth))
Participating in the workshop were:
-Prof. Dr. Abbas Sabbar / Director of the Quality Assurance Department / Session Chair
-Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Muhammad Manshid / Director of the Center for Counseling and Psychological and Social Services
-Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Jumaa Kazim / Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication
-Lec. Jolan Hussein Khalil / Head of the Human Rights Division at the Center for Psychological Research.

The workshop aims to demonstrate how to confront intellectual extremism among young students and work to prohibit incitement to extremism, which in turn leads to the commission of terrorist acts. It also emphasizes individual behavior, moderate dialogue, and avoiding the incitement of hatred. It also emphasizes familiarization with the Security Council’s regulations and rules for combating intellectual extremism and terrorism. It also emphasizes confronting any extremist ideology within society, informing relevant authorities, educating the public, and combating extremism on social media, basing it on practical scientific evidence rather than speculation.

The workshop concluded that there has been a significant increase in the dissemination of extremist ideology through social media. It also highlights the need to combat it by raising awareness and educating society about the scourge of extremism, which drives young people to illegal migration and the resulting humanitarian, security, and economic risks that disintegrate societies and cause significant harm to individuals and society. It also recommended the need to intensify media efforts to combat this phenomenon by raising awareness among young people and providing job opportunities and decent living conditions in their countries of origin.
