The role of examining serum IL-6 and IL-4 levels along with serum free miRNA in patients with acute gastritis. A master’s thesis.

The Department of Medical Microbiology at the College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Examination of Serum IL-6 and IL-4 Levels with Free MiRNA in Serum in Patients with Acute Gastritis” by researcher Mustafa Abbas Attia, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghada Basil Ali Al-Ameshi.
The thesis aimed to evaluate the comparative immunological relationship between patients with acute gastritis and healthy controls, and to measure the levels of the cytokines IL-6 (pro-inflammatory) and IL-4 (anti-inflammatory) in serum using ELISA. It also aimed to evaluate the potential use of these cytokines as diagnostic markers for acute gastritis.
The most important recommendations regarding the genetic aspect of gastritis predisposition include the use of modern and accurate techniques such as gene sequencing, and expanding the scope of research to include other biomarkers and genetics. This is all aimed at developing a more accurate diagnosis and more specialized treatments for patients with acute gastritis in the future.
