the phenotypic and molecular characterization of the causes of infectious bacterial shingles in Diwaniyah Governorate and the effect of gold nanoparticles on it; A doctoral thesis.

A doctoral thesis was discussed in the Department of Life Sciences, College of Education, University of Al-Qadisiyah, The thesis was presented by researcher Ammar Nabil Mujed Shaalan Al-Jubouri, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Majid Kazim Abboud Al-Shabli.
The aim of the thesis was to isolate and diagnose S. aureus bacteria, the cause of chronic bacterial impetigo, from hospitals and clinics in Diwaniyah using traditional methods and confirmatory diagnosis using the VITEK 2 system.
The most important conclusions were that a higher rate of infection with S. aureus bacteria, the cause of infectious impetigo, was recorded among females compared to males, with significant statistical differences, indicating the possibility that the infection is influenced by biological or behavioral factors. A significant increase in infection rates was also observed among children aged 1–2 years, indicating that the younger age group is more susceptible to infection with infectious impetigo due to weak immunity or environmental contact.
The most important recommendations are the need to strengthen health awareness programs in Rural areas, especially with regard to methods of preventing bacterial infections and their transmission through direct contact with animals, as well as conducting periodic visits to monitor the spread of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and determine their patterns of resistance to antibiotics in different age groups and geographical areas.
