A master’s thesis entitled “The Role of the Health Dimension in Sustainable Development Indicators in Iraq for the Period (2006-2022)” was discussed at the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Qadisiyah University. The thesis was presented by Nael Jabbar Bustan, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Musa Khalaf Awad. The study aimed to clarify the relationship between health indicators and sustainable development goals in Iraq for the period (2006-2022), in light of the development and health challenges facing the country. The most important conclusions are that the health system in Iraq suffers from weak performance indicators compared to the level required to achieve the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals. This necessitates the reformulation of health policies within the framework of sustainable development. The most important recommendations are: The health system in Iraq must be developed to ensure the provision of free treatment to the most needy groups, including the poor and patients with chronic diseases, in addition to strengthening preventive services and achieving sustainability in health spending rather than simply increasing the budget.
