A Master’s thesis at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, entitled “A Comparative Study of the Efficacy of Nanocellulose Extracted from Palm Fronds and Nano-Emulsion of Date Seed Oil in Achilles Tendon Healing in Rabbits,” was conducted by researcher Hanan Hakim Farhan and supervised by Professor Amer Ibrahim Tawfiq.

The thesis aimed to evaluate and compare the therapeutic efficacy of nanocellulose extracted from palm fronds and nano-emulsion of date seed oil, individually and in combination, in promoting the healing of Achilles tendon injuries in New Zealand rabbits. This was achieved through clinical, mechanical, and histological evaluation, in addition to using ultrasound to monitor the stages of tendon healing.

Key Recommendations: It is advisable to study the possibility of converting these materials into nano-gels to prolong their local persistence, while also evaluating different dosages and concentrations. The potential use of nanocellulose and date seed oil nanoemulsifiers in promoting the healing of other tissues, such as skin, muscles, and ligaments, is being explored within the field of regenerative medicine.
