The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the College of Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, discussed the Master’s thesis entitled “Evaluation of Clinical and Inflammatory Factors Contributing to the Failure to Achieve the Therapeutic Goal in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Treated with Infliximab in the Middle Euphrates Region of Iraq,” by researcher Mustafa Kadhim Mahdi, supervised by Professor Dr. Asmaa Abdul Jalil Sawadi

This thesis aimed to evaluate and analyze the factors contributing to the failure to achieve treatment goals in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients treated with infliximab in the Middle Euphrates region of Iraq, by identifying factors related to the patient, the disease, and the treatment.

The thesis showed that the failure to achieve treatment goals in rheumatoid arthritis patients treated with infliximab is associated with a range of factors related to the patient, the disease, and the healthcare system.

The thesis recommended the importance of early diagnosis and prompt intervention, enhancing patient education and adherence to follow-up and treatment, adopting integrated care for co-morbidities, improving access to biologic therapies, and increasing the availability of specialized rheumatology centers.
