The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, Al-Qadisiyah University, examined a Master’s thesis entitled “International Institutions and Their Role in Addressing Poverty: A Comparative Study of International Experiences, with Iraq as a Model.” The thesis was presented by researcher Ali Khudair Obaid and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Munaf Mirza Ni’ma.

The study aimed to analyze the role of international institutions in combating poverty, compare international experiences with those in Iraq, and measure the impact of their programs on Iraqi poverty indicators.

The study recommended several measures, most notably building local capacities, balancing economic reform with social protection, learning from successful experiences (such as those of Egypt and Jordan), establishing a national monitoring unit, and directing funding towards productive projects that create job opportunities.
