The Department of Materials Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized training course entitled “Magnetic Particle Testing” in the Continuing Education Hall. The course was presented by Dr. Hassan Abdul Kadhim.

The course aimed to enhance the technical skills of the participants and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the demands of the industrial job market, particularly in the fields of oil and gas, metal fabrication, and weld quality inspection.

The course covered the theoretical and practical aspects of one of the most important non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. It included several topics, such as explaining how to utilize the magnetic properties of materials to detect surface and subsurface defects, demonstrating the steps involved in spraying magnetic particles (dry or wet), and how these particles accumulate at magnetic flux leakage points to identify cracks.
