College of Science at Al-Qadisiyah university organized a training course entitled “Microplastics and Their Increasing Impact on the Environment and Human Health, and Their Future Harmful Effects.” The course was presented by Assistant Lecturer Marwa Hakim Turki and Assistant Lecturer Noura Riyadh Jaber.

The course aimed to introduce the concept of microplastics and their sources in the environment, explain the methods of microplastic dispersion in water, soil, and air, and understand the environmental effects of microplastics on living organisms and ecosystems.

Key recommendations included reducing the use of single-use plastic products, encouraging recycling and the sustainable use of plastic materials, raising environmental awareness among community members about the dangers of microplastics, and supporting scientific research that studies the impact of microplastics on the environment and human health.
