The universities of Baghdad, Kufa, Al-Mustansiriya, Babylon and Basra recorded attendance, participation and competition in the QS World Ranking, which announced its results for the year 2021 to evaluate five thousand and five hundred international universities spread over eighty countries.
The head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation department, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, said that the results of the year 2021 of the QS World Ranking announced on the official website (https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2021) included five Iraqi public universities which are the University of Baghdad (801-1000), the University of Kufa (801-1000), Al-Mustansiriya University (1001+), the University of Babylon (1001+), and the University of Basra (1001+). He pointed out that there is a noticeable increase in the number of universities included in the ranking in comparison to the results of the last year which had three Iraqi universities only.
It is worth mentioning that the British QS Ranking is based on five main criteria of evaluation: academic reputation 40%, employers 10%, student-teacher ratio 20%, citations 20%, and international students and teachers 10%.
