Based on Al-Qadisiyah University’s vision of fostering collaboration with international universities and establishing global partnerships, the College of Archaeology at Al-Qadisiyah University held a training course for its students in cooperation with the Department of Archaeology at Durham University in the UK. The course aimed to train students on modern archaeological surveying techniques.
The training course took place from August 15-31, 2023, in the laboratories of the Department of Archaeology at Durham University. It included a group of students from the college, who were trained on modern techniques used in archaeological documentation. Today, the college is hosting a new training course, continuing the scientific cooperation with the Department of Archaeology at Durham University. This course includes students who participated in the previous training, as well as new students, to complete the requirements of the previous course and ensure the continuity of the learning process. The University President conducted an inspection visit to the program and reviewed the activities of the student trainees and their instructors from Durham University, Dr. Christine Huber and Dr. William Dedman, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sattar Abdul-Hassan Al-Fatlawi, and the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Rajwan Faisal Al-Mayali.
