The College of Archaeology at Al-Qadisiyah University welcomed students from Al-Diwaniyah High School for Distinguished Students for a scientific visit aimed at introducing them to the field of archaeology and its importance in preserving Iraq’s cultural identity.

The students were welcomed by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Rajwan Faisal Al-Mayali, who introduced them to the college’s departments and academic mission. He emphasized that antiquities represent a national and human treasure that embodies the country’s identity and its ancient history throughout the ages. He pointed out that the College of Archaeology seeks to prepare a generation aware of the value of this great heritage and the responsibility of preserving it.

Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Husseini gave an introductory lecture on the concept of antiquities and archaeological sites in Iraq, explaining how these sites are living testaments to the development of civilization in Mesopotamia.

This visit is part of the College of Archaeology’s activities aimed at spreading archaeological awareness among school students and strengthening communication between the university and educational institutions, contributing to the consolidation of values ​​of belonging and concern.
