Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Aqeel Abid, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Archaeology, Al-Qadisiyah University, participated in the translation and review of the book “Cuneiform Writing,” in collaboration with translator Zainab Al-Muzaydawi.
The book, authored by cuneiform scholars Irving Finkel and Jonathan Taylor, was recently published by the British Museum.
It explores the history of the origins of cuneiform writing in Mesopotamia and its development throughout the ages, the mechanisms of its recording and reading, its spread and transmission among the societies of the ancient Near East, and its role in preserving and documenting various aspects of political, economic, social, and intellectual life.
This scholarly contribution is part of the efforts of the faculty members of the College of Archaeology at Al-Qadisiyah University to translate specialized scholarly works into Arabic and to enrich the academic resources available to researchers and students of archaeological and cuneiform studies.
The book was published in Iraq by Nipur Publishing House.
