Alternative treatment for breast cancer. A new research.

As part of the College of Biotechnology’s academic plan, a lecturer at the College of Biotechnology at Al-Qadisiyah University publishes a research paper in a prestigious international journal indexed in Scopus.

Asst. Lec. Dr. Dhafaf Jassim Mohammed, a lecturer in the College of Biotechnology, in collaboration with Prof. Majid Kazim Al-Shabli, a lecturer in the College of Education, published a research paper titled “The Therapeutic Effect of Biosynthesis of Selenium Nanoparticles on Enhancing Apoptosis Induction and Cell Line Arrest in MCF_7 Breast Cancer Cell Lines” in the Journal of Nanostructure and included in the Scopus Q3 database.
The research addressed the following topics:
Therapeutic Effect of Biosynthesis of Selenium Nanoparticles on Enhancing Apoptosis Induction and Cell Line Arrest in MCF_7 Breast Cancer Cell Lines

The research aimed to manufacture selenium nanoparticles biosynthesized by Pseudomonas aerogenesis bacteria, which have been used as an alternative treatment for breast cancer.
These research achievements confirm the pioneering role of Al-Qadisiyah University and its researchers in promoting scientific research and employing biotechnology to serve individuals and society by providing scientific research related to evaluating anti-cancer activity through manufacturing. Selenium nanoparticles inhibited breast cancer cells at the dose used for inhibition ratios, demonstrating their ability to combat breast cancer. Further clinical validation is necessary for practical application.
