As part of the program to develop graduate students’ skills in the research phase, the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Legal Text Analysis.” Professor Dr. Adnan Ajil Obaid lectured at the workshop, and it was moderated by Dr. Ali Hamza Jabr.
The workshop aimed to examine the tools for analyzing legal texts by following internationally approved methods, starting with adopting modern methods in scientific research, as well as organizing research priorities according to an integrated management of time and research tools. The workshop also aimed to present the idea of the necessity for researchers to resort to analyzing legal texts according to sound mechanisms, starting with the research plan and continuing through the division of research ideas for the thesis or dissertation.
The workshop concluded that the researcher’s ability to analyze requires a variety of references, increased knowledge, and perseverance in learning. The workshop also concluded that researchers’ analysis of legal texts must be based on cognitive foundations and modern cognitive methods.
The workshop recommended the need for researchers to exert cognitive efforts in analyzing legal rules and memorizing them. The legislator’s purpose in imposing these standards and establishing points that can be reviewed by the legislator in the future is in the hope of establishing legal rules that meet quality requirements and meet the aspirations of various individuals.
