A lecturer from the College of Archaeology at Al-Qadisiyah University participated in a workshop at the British Museum.
Professor Jaafar Al-Jawdhari participated, along with researchers and academics from around the world, in a workshop held by the British Museum on modern methods for studying clay tablets, their clay sources, and methods of preserving them.
He presented his research, titled “Geology of the Iraqi Alluvial Plain,” which included a detailed presentation of the geology of the alluvial plain, its sediment sources, and the possibility of identifying the archaeological site where the clay tablet was made based on chemical analysis of the soil and ancient rivers surrounding the site.
This research, along with the research of the participants in this workshop, will be published in a book to be issued by the British Museum Press in 2019. 2027
