Chemical Risk Management in University Laboratory Environments; A training course.


The College of Agriculture held a training course entitled “Chemical Risk Management in University Laboratory Environments” in the college’s conference hall. Presented by Dr. Raad Farhan Shahd and Assis. Lec. Muntadhar Mahmoud Abu Hila, the course aimed to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills in the field of chemical safety. It covered several topics, most notably the principles of safe handling of chemicals, as well as response plans for spills and fires, and methods for storing and disposing of chemical waste.

The most important conclusions: Promoting a culture of safety and prevention in the laboratory environment. In an effort to spread a culture of safety and promote a safe work environment in university laboratories, the college emphasized that organizing such courses is part of its strategic plan to raise the efficiency of university staff in the field of security and safety, and to ensure a safe educational and research environment.
