The Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized workshop titled “Duties and Tasks of the Chemical Engineer in the Industrial Work Environment.” Held in the Continuing Education Hall, the workshop was presented by Dr. Haider Alaa Maabed and Asst. Prof. Hussein Hantoush Farhan.

The workshop addressed the pivotal and vital role chemical engineers play in the operation and management of industrial facilities. It covered the practical aspects of engineering work—ranging from the design, development, and safe operation of chemical processes to the implementation of quality and occupational safety standards and the mitigation of the environmental impact of industrial emissions.

The workshop also featured real-world, field-based examples illustrating the competencies and skills required for chemical engineers to handle technical challenges within industrial settings. Emphasis was placed on the importance of practical application and the integration of academic curricula with the demands of both local and international labor markets.
