The Student Activities Department at Al-Qadisiyah University, represented by its Director, Professor Dr. Imad Awda Al-Amiri, along with the department’s volunteer team, participated in the major national campaign to combat the spread of water hyacinth and protect rivers and waterways. The campaign, held on the banks of the Diwaniyah River, saw wide participation from government institutions and volunteer groups.

The campaign was launched from the city of Diwaniyah with the participation of Al-Qadisiyah University, the Directorate of Water Resources, and the Diwaniyah Police Directorate with all its formations, in addition to volunteer groups and community organizations. This initiative aims to promote social responsibility and preserve the environment and water resources by removing water hyacinth, which poses a threat to rivers and waterways and negatively impacts the ecosystem.

This participation embodies Al-Qadisiyah University’s role in serving the community, establishing a culture of volunteerism, enhancing environmental awareness among youth, and actively contributing to the protection of water resources and the preservation of the city’s beauty for a more beautiful river, a more beautiful environment, and a more beautiful nation.
