A master’s thesis titled “The Role of Stock Performance Evaluation Models in Building an Investment Portfolio: An Applied Study in the Iraq Stock Exchange for the Period (2018-2023)” was discussed in the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Qadisiyah University. The thesis was presented by student Raghad Munadhil Qasim and supervised by Professor Dr. Salem Salal Al-Hasnawi.
The study’s results indicated that guidance for investors in the Iraqi market, based on the results, focuses on companies with stable performance and positive ratings in the Treynor, Sharpe, and Jensen indices, particularly those that balance low risk with high returns. Caution should be exercised when dealing with companies with negative indicators, as their investments may entail high risks and potential losses.
The study recommended relying on stock performance evaluation models, particularly the Treynor, Sharpe, and Jensen ratios, as primary tools for selecting appropriate stocks, rather than relying solely on market data and public information, to achieve a more strategic investment.
