A master’s thesis was discussed in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education at Al-Qadisiyah University, The thesis was written by researcher Ameer Hameed Al-Ziyadi and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Khaled Abu Jassim Abdul Fatlawi.
The thesis aimed to evaluate drug and psychotropic substance abuse coping strategies among graduate students, as well as to identify statistically significant differences in drug and psychotropic substance abuse coping strategies among graduate students based on gender (male, female), level (master’s, doctorate), and specialization (scientific, humanities).
The most important conclusions are that graduate students possess coping strategies for drug and psychotropic substance abuse, whether male or female, graduate students (master’s, doctorate), or college students. Scientific or humanities graduate students also possess a sense of social belonging, whether male or female, graduate students (master’s or doctoral), or students in scientific or humanities colleges.
The most important recommendations are to pay attention to problem-solving methods, given their importance in confronting challenges and dealing with circumstances. They also focus on the positive aspects of the human personality, identifying coping methods through which treatment is achieved, and developing alternative plans for future scenarios that arise during the educational process under such circumstances.
