As part of the strategic direction toward strengthening international academic cooperation, Al-Qadisiyah University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Rahi Kallaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, signed a memorandum of academic cooperation with the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, representing the Iraqi academic landscape.
The signing ceremony for the British side of the memorandum took place at the University of Liverpool headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Asmaa Al-Sabah, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at Al-Qadisiyah University, who represented the university at this important event.
The memorandum was signed on the British side by Professor Tariq Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Partnerships and Global Engagement at the University of Liverpool. The event was attended by a number of prominent academic figures from the University of Liverpool, including Professor Peter McCormick, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Postgraduate Education, and Professor of Pharmacology in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences; Professor Shakila Thangaratinam, Professor of Women’s Health; Christine Pitman, Associate Director of Global Engagement and Partnerships; Dan Stevenson, Associate Director of Student Recruitment; Helen Carlin, Director of International Partnerships and Coordinator of the event; Professor Georgina Endfield, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Research Environment and Postgraduate studies, and Professor of Environmental History; and Lisa Crimmins, Director of Doctoral Programs and Partnerships in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The MoJAC aims to establish academic partnerships between the two universities in the fields of scientific research, faculty and student exchange, joint supervision, postgraduate program development, and academic quality assurance, contributing to the advancement of the academic and ranking levels of both universities.
