The Poultry Diseases and Diseases Branch, in cooperation with the Public Health Branch at the College of Veterinary Medicine, have conducted a scientific course entitled (Types of antibiotics used in raising broiler chickens) by Prof. Amer Rassam Ali, Ph.D. and Asst. Prof. Diaa Jabir Hamza and Lecturer Batoul Kadhim Mitib.

       The course aims at identifying the most important types of antibiotics that are used during the period of raising broilers, as antibiotics are considered among the most important drugs used in the poultry sector and are indispensable in treating many diseases, especially bacterial infections. The course has also focused the necessity of understanding the mechanism of the action of every antibiotic.

        The course has recommended the need to determine the effective antibiotic for each case by conducting a sensitivity test.
