Rejection sensitivity and its relationship to future imagination; A master’s thesis

A master’s thesis from the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education at Al-Qadisiyah University, titled “Rejection Sensitivity and Its Relationship to Future Imagination among Middle School Students,” was conducted by researcher Shahla Fahim Rahi and supervised by lecturer Dr. Huda Faisal Abbas.

The thesis aimed to examine rejection sensitivity among middle school students, as well as the statistically significant differences in rejection sensitivity among middle school students according to variables such as gender (male-female), specialization (scientific, literary), and future imagination among middle school students.

The most important conclusions are that the students in the research sample possess a high level of future imagination. The research sample also possesses a high level of rejection sensitivity. The circumstances in which the country lives have an impact on the lives of middle school students, both in terms of social and cultural awareness and academically as students. This has led to the development of students’ imagination, opening up a new future for them, and overcoming rejection sensitivity. There is a positive correlation between future imagination and rejection sensitivity.

The most important recommendations are to pay attention to the topic of rejection sensitivity at the applied and theoretical levels and include it in the curriculum of educational psychology at the scientific and literary levels. It is also necessary to develop curricula based on a theoretical approach to information processing that addresses various mental processes. It is also necessary to establish programs within the university through scientific and advisory centers to develop mental and cognitive abilities.
