Al-Qadisiyah University signed a cooperation agreement with the global company Huawei as part of the Huawei ICT Academy program. The agreement aims to support digital transformation and build the technical and academic capabilities of faculty and students.
The agreement was signed during a ministerial workshop held at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Raed Abdul-Jabbar, Director of the Human Resources Development and Training Department at the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, Huawei representatives, and several representatives from Iraqi universities.
Al-Qadisiyah University was represented at this workshop by Dr. Manar Jundi Hazar, lecturer from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. She participated in the workshop and the signing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in developing the digital learning environment within the university.
The terms of the agreement include opening effective channels of cooperation between Al-Qadisiyah University and Huawei Academy, including:
• Organizing specialized training programs and technical workshops in the fields of communications and information technology.
• Qualifying academic staff and students to obtain Huawei’s globally accredited certificates.
• Supporting the university in building an advanced digital learning environment consistent with international standards.
• Contributing to raising the university’s ranking by developing students’ technical competencies.
October 15, 2025, was also set as the official date for the launch of the first training workshops at Al-Qadisiyah University in the College of Engineering hall, with the attendance of delegations from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Huawei Academy.
The Presidency of Al-Qadisiyah University affirmed that this agreement represents a strategic step in the university’s digital transformation journey, enhancing its academic and technical capabilities and opening broader horizons for international cooperation in the field of higher education and modern technologies.
It is worth noting that the College of Engineering and the College of Computer Science and Information Technology have undertaken to implement the agreement and directly supervise its training and technical programs within the university. This affirms their pioneering role in supporting digital transformation projects, developing the technical skills of Al-Qadisiyah University graduates, and keeping pace with the demands of the labor market in the digital age.
