The effect of the Denz model on improving some physical and motor abilities and basic handball skills. A doctoral dissertation


A doctoral dissertation was discussed at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qadisiyah University, entitled “The Effect of the Denz Model on Improving Some Physical and Motor Abilities and Basic Handball Skills for Players of the Al-Qadisiyah Education School – Intermediate Stage.” The dissertation was presented by student Mushtaq Talib Shabr, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Zahra.
The dissertation aimed to examine the biomotor abilities and offensive handball skills of players on the Al-Diwaniyah Education School team for the year 2023-2024. It also aimed to identify the impact of the educational curriculum based on the Denz Model on developing some biomotor abilities and offensive handball skills for players on the Al-Diwaniyah Education School team for the year 2023-2024.
Main conclusions: The use of the Denz Model played a significant role in learning handball-specific skills among the study sample. Furthermore, the educational units built according to the Denz Model contributed effectively to increasing learners’ motivation and self-reliance during learning.
Main recommendations: The results of this study can be used to teach basic handball skills, and the importance of using the Denz Model in teaching other basic skills within sports is emphasized. Also, conduct similar studies on other sports (individual and team) with the aim of developing the skill capabilities of female students.
