The course aimed to introduce the trainees to the importance of psychological counseling, its stages of development, its objectives, elements, stages of the counseling process, methods of collecting counseling information, psychological counseling skills possessed by the counselor, and the most important scientific theories that dealt with the means and techniques that help (the counseled) in their insight into the strengths and weaknesses of their personalities to find solutions for them. It also pointed out some of the problems and counseling needs of university students. The course concluded by introducing the trainees to counseling sessions (individual and group) and their techniques with practical examples of their cases and the conditions for performing and dealing with them.
