The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, Al-Qadisiyah University, examined a Master’s thesis entitled “Natural Gas Investment and its Role in Economic Growth and the Environment: Selected International Experiences with Special Reference to Iraq.” The thesis was presented by researcher Ihab Razzaq Ghazi and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Shatha Salem Dali.<\/p>\n
The study aimed to demonstrate the relationship between natural gas investment and its connection to economic growth and the environment. It also analyzed the current state of the natural gas sector in Iraq and explored how to benefit from selected international experiences (Algeria and Qatar) to increase economic growth and reduce environmental impacts.<\/p>\n
The study recommended several measures, most notably the development of a comprehensive technical plan for the natural gas industry, increased exploration and development of free gas fields to ensure long-term supply independent of crude oil production, and the creation of an attractive investment environment through updated legislation and streamlined procedures for foreign and domestic investors. Furthermore, it recommended adopting modern technologies to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of natural gas production and consumption, in line with the goals of sustainable development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
