A Master’s thesis at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, entitled “Molecular Detection of Feline Calicivirus in Domestic Cats in Al-Diwaniyah City,” was conducted by researcher Diaa Abbas Majeed and supervised by Professor Dr. Qasim Halim Kashash.<\/p>\n
The study, in the field of internal medicine, aimed to detect feline calicivirus in cats in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate and to study the hematological and chemical changes associated with the disease.<\/p>\n
The study reached several important conclusions, most notably the partial diagnosis of the virus causing the disease in cats, with an infection rate of 16%. The infection rate was higher in older cats, and infected cats showed a significant increase in body temperature, respiratory rate, and pulse rate compared to the moderate and mild groups and the control group.<\/p>\n
The study recommended the importance of vaccinating domestic cats to prevent infection. For infected cats, isolation and a specific treatment regimen should be adopted to reduce the severity of the infection and prevent the spread of the disease.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
