A Master\u2019s thesis entitled \u2018Isolation and molecular characterisation of Klebsiella pneumoniae in broiler chickens in Babil Governorate\u2019, by researcher Hadiyar Ali Abdul-Amir and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr Diaa Jaber Hamza Al-Zubaidi, was examined at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University.<\/p>\n
The study aimed to isolate, diagnose and perform molecular characterisation of Klebsiella pneumoniae, as it is one of the major pathogens in broiler chicken farms, given its role in causing respiratory infections and systemic inflammation, and the economic losses it causes that affect the poultry industry.<\/p>\n
The study yielded a number of important findings, most notably the isolation of Klebsiella pneumoniae for the first time from broiler chicken farms in Babil Governorate, as well as the registration of two new genetic strains for the first time in GenBank under the name of the researcher Hadiar Ali Abdul-Amir and her supervisor, Assistant Professor Dr Diaa Jaber Hamza Al-Zubaidi; this is a scientific achievement that adds to the body of Iraqi research in the field of poultry diseases and veterinary microbiology.<\/p>\n
The study recommended the need to expand epidemiological surveillance programmes for Klebsiella pneumoniae in poultry projects across various Iraqi governorates, and to adopt modern molecular techniques for the early and accurate diagnosis of bacterial pathogens, as well as conducting further studies on genetic characteristics, virulence factors and patterns of antibiotic resistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
