The thesis was submitted by researcher Duaa Hussein Abdul-Amir and supervised by Professor Dr. Israa Najm Abdullah<\/p>\n<p>Key findings: The growing crisis of antibiotic resistance in poultry farms is a result of the indiscriminate and excessive use of antibiotics. This has transformed poultry bacteria into a terrifying genetic reservoir capable of transmitting resistant and pathogenic strains, such as ST-10, to humans through the food chain, raising significant environmental and health concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Key recommendations: Strengthen controls, implement biosecurity measures, and immediately curb the indiscriminate use of antibiotics in poultry farms. Replace antibiotic use with robust immunization protocols and strict biosecurity measures. Expand geographical studies and conduct broader surveys encompassing multiple governorates and poultry farms to obtain an accurate epidemiological map of APEC spread.
