A doctoral dissertation entitled “Measuring the Impact of Trade Liberalization on Economic Stability Indicators for a Sample of Selected Countries with Reference to Iraq for the Period (2000-2024)” was discussed in the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, Al-Qadisiyah University. The dissertation was presented by researcher Muhannad Awda Shaheeb Al-Kinani, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Karim Salem Al-Ghalibi and Assistant Professor Dr. Shatha Salem Dali.<\/p>\n
The study aimed to measure and determine the impact of trade liberalization on economic stability indicators for a sample of selected countries during the studied period. It also analyzed the differences between the countries and the factors influencing this impact. Furthermore, it aimed to provide scientific insights that contribute to formulating trade and economic policies that balance achieving liberalization with ensuring sustainable economic stability, based on the research findings.<\/p>\n
The most important conclusions are that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between trade liberalization and economic growth in the selected sample countries. The relationship is positive, as the economy quickly returns to its equilibrium path when any imbalance occurs. It appears that trade liberalization is consistent with growth. The long-term economic impact, even if not immediately apparent due to shocks and dependence on oil, is significant.<\/p>\n
The study concluded that a gradual trade liberalization policy is necessary, one that aligns with the competitiveness of the Iraqi national economy. This approach avoids rapid, unregulated liberalization, which could weaken local productive sectors and increase reliance on imports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
