<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"As part of efforts to advance higher education in Iraq and enhance the presence of Iraqi universities in Arab and international rankings, Al-Qadisiyah University participated in a training workshop held in Amman, Jordan, under the title:
\n“Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions and Building International Relations Skills.” Experts from the Association of Arab Universities, the Erasmus+ program, and European academic institutions participated.<\/p>\n
Al-Qadisiyah University, represented by Dr. Asma Abdul Amir Abis, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, participated in the training course on developing and building the competencies of employees in higher education institutions. The course was organized by the Association of Arab Universities in Amman, Jordan, on October 15-16, 2025.<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udd39 The workshop addressed important topics, including:
\n\u2022 The concept of academic internationalization and its modern tools.
\n\u2022 A roadmap for effective engagement in the Erasmus+ and ICM programs for international university cooperation.
\n\u2022 Steps for preparing CBHE proposals for institutional capacity building.
\n\u2022 Mechanisms for signing twinning, student, and academic exchange agreements.
\n\u2022 How to enhance institutional readiness for international partnerships and enhance university competitiveness.
\nThe course was attended by:
\n\u2022 Professor Walid Salameh
\nA prominent academic in the fields of computer engineering and artificial intelligence, he serves as a senior advisor to the Association of Arab Universities and a professor at Princess Sumaya University for Technology and the Arab Digital Economy Foundation.
\n\u2022 Professor Ahmad I. Abu-El-Haija, founder and director of the Erasmus+ National Office for Jordanian-European Cooperation since 2003, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Specto, and has worked as an expert for several international organizations such as the World Bank and UNESCO. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Stanford University, USA.
\n\u2022 Eng. Asma Al-Smadi
\nShe serves as Project Manager at the National Office for the Erasmus+ Program in Jordan. She has extensive experience in managing EU-funded projects, including the Erasmus+ and Tempus programs. She also works with higher education institutions, ministries of education, and accreditation bodies, focusing on building institutional capacity and enhancing regional cooperation in higher education.<\/p>\n
This participation is part of Al-Qadisiyah University’s strategy to strengthen its international partnerships and activate the role of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department in opening new horizons for cooperation, in line with the university’s vision of shifting towards global academic openness.<\/p>\n
