The Branch of Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine \/University of Al-Qadisiyah has discussed a research entitled (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Self-medication -Description of Self-treatment- among Students of the College of Medicine in the city of Diwaniyah) by the student Israa Mahmoud Abdul-Zahra and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Fatima Abdul-Kadhim Ridha Al-Khalidi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This study has been conducted to determine the knowledge, attitude and practice of self-medication (description of self-treatment) among students of the College of Medicine, University of Al-Qadisiyah, as well as to clarify the relationship between knowledge of self-medication and the academic level of the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most important recommendations of the research are: this study demonstrates the necessity of educating students about the correct method for self-medication, and for them to become more aware while using medications; in addition, it strongly suggests conducting more researches regarding the practice of self-medication among students in other colleges and among other age groups of adults and the elderly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
